How we rate Canadian online casinos
Every casino on this site goes through the same checklist before it gets a place in a table, and through it again whenever something material changes — a new licence, a new payment provider, different wagering terms. The date on each page is the date that check was last run.

What we check
- Licence and who holds it. Ontario players can only be served legally by operators registered with the AGCO and iGaming Ontario; Alberta has the AGLC. For everyone else we record the offshore licence (Malta, Curacao, Kahnawake) and say plainly that it is not a Canadian one.
- Payouts. How long a withdrawal actually takes, whether the casino reverses pending withdrawals, what the minimum and maximum limits are, and whether Interac e-Transfer, iDebit or InstaDebit are supported for cash-outs and not only for deposits.
- Bonus terms. The wagering multiplier, what it applies to (bonus only or deposit plus bonus), the maximum bet while wagering, game weightings and the expiry window. A large headline number with 60× wagering is worth less than a small one at 25×.
- Banking in Canadian dollars. Whether the account is genuinely held in CAD or converted at the operator’s rate, and what the deposit minimum is.
- Game library and studios. Who supplies the slots and live tables, and whether the live casino is available to Canadian players at Canadian hours.
- Support and complaints. Response time on live chat, whether support exists in English and French, and the public complaint record with the licensing body.
- Responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits, session reminders, cool-off and self-exclusion — and how easy they are to find in the account area.
How the order in a table is decided
Tables are ordered by the criterion named in the heading above them, not by a single universal score. A page about fast payouts is ordered by payout speed; a page about no-deposit offers is ordered by what the player actually receives without funding the account. Where two casinos are close, the one with the clearer terms goes first.
What we do not do
- We do not invent bonus figures. If an operator does not publish a number for Canada, the field stays empty rather than being filled with a guess.
- We do not publish player testimonials or star ratings written by anyone other than our editors.
- We do not take payment for a higher position. Links to operators are commercial, and that is stated in the footer of every page — but the order is editorial.
How we are funded
When a reader opens an account through a link on this site, the operator may pay us a commission. It costs the reader nothing and it does not change the terms of the offer. It also does not buy a place in a table: an operator that pays well but pays out slowly is still marked as slow.
Corrections
Terms change often and operators do not always announce it. If a figure on this site is out of date, tell us and we will re-check it — the page will then carry a new date.
